Derek is a Scottish-born artist now based in the rugged beauty of North Wales. Deeply inspired by the shared Celtic heritage of Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, his work celebrates the untamed spirit of these lands.

Working primarily in paint, pastel, and print, Derek captures the raw drama of wild landscapes: brooding skies heavy with storm, vast bleak moors stretching to the horizon, and restless coasts battered by the sea. His textured, atmospheric pieces evoke a profound sense of place, resilience, and timeless connection to the Celtic wilderness.

After graduating with a BA Hons in Graphic Design from Leeds, Derek built a fulfilling career teaching art and design, nurturing creativity in others while honing his own distinctive style. This foundation shines through in his ability to transform raw emotion into compelling visual stories.
